EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 343 1838 N-9 R3 NGC graded MS63 Brown . Frosty medium olive brown and steel. The surfaces are satiny and the strike is sharp. No notable marks and the eye appeal is solidly mint state, but there is a hint of run on the very highest points of the devices. LDS, Grellman stats f, with a clearly defined rim cud from below the date to even with the top of star 12. A much weaker rim cud also shows from over star 6 nearly to star 7, but it is barely visible thanks in part to the very narrow rim in that area. In addition there is a die crack across the bust tip and the area below the crack is sunken. Graded MS60 by Del Bland and James Corrado. Our grade is AU58+. 6619522-001

LOT 345 1838 N-15 R5- F12 . Sharpness VF35 but there is a deep scratch at the throat and lighter marks off the chin; otherwise minor contact marks on smooth, attractive surfaces. Glossy medium brown and chocolate. The attribution points are clear.

Ex Larry Whitlow 8/1980-Del Bland 2/19/1987-James L. Corrado, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/11/2007:774 (includes the Bland and Corrado collection envelopes)

LOT 344 1838 N-9 R3 NGC graded AU58 . Glossy olive brown and chocolate. Smooth and very attractive with light wear on the devices. Just trivial marks including a very light rim bruise under the end of the wreath stem and another at the E in AMERICA. M-LDS, Grellman state e, with a strong rim cud from the top of star 12 to just left of the date. There is no trace of the final rim cud at stars 6-7. Our grade is EF45+, close to AU50. The attribution and Jules Reiver Collection provenance are noted on the NGC label. 308060-009

LOT 346 1839 N-2 R-2 Head of 1838 PCGS AU53 CAC Approved . Attractive light brown with subtle steel streaks on the left obverse and central reverse, and a crimson spot under star 9. There is a bit of dark dirt at the mouth, eye, and central reverse legends. Only trivial marks, the best identifying one being a nick in the hair between the beaded cords. Glossy, smooth surfaces. LDS(b). Our grade is XF40. 37225.53/34032700
