Wallace Collection, Early Cents Auctions 1/19/2024:311 (includes the Borhek collection envelope and lot ticket) CHOICE 1829 N-4 WITH GREAT PROVENANCE

yes LOT 314 1829 N-4 R4 VF35 . Choice glossy light olive and brown with generous traces of golden tan faded down from mint color in protected areas, particularly on the reverse. The fields are satiny and this cent has great eye appeal. The strike is soft, as usual on this variety, but there is very little actual wear. The satiny surfaces and very light wear suggest a 45-50 grade but the weak strike matters. LDS, Grellman state b, with a strong radial crack through the R in AMERICA. Comes with a superb provenance.

Ex Henry C. Hines (via Dr. William H. Sheldon)-Floyd T. Starr, Stack’s 6/13/1984:224-Fred H. Borcherdt
