The only defects are a few tiny nicks under CENT and the line below and traces of crud in protected areas on both sides. Might benefit from a proper bath. MDS, Grellman state b, with the usual dull crack connecting stars 1-3. Struck with the reverse rotated 15 degrees clockwise. Our grade is VF25+ . The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. 7446879

LOT 290 1817 N-16 R1 15-Star Obverse F12 . Sharpness VF20+ but there is a rather large corrosion pit that fills the space between the date and star 13, and this mark catches your eye. There are a couple smaller areas of fine corrosion elsewhere on the obverse plus a collection of scratches at the front edge of the coronet. The corroded areas contain specks of verdigris. Glossy olive brown and steel. LDS, Grellman state c, with a cud break at AM. The earlier die line from the right top of the F is gone. Struck with the reverse rotated 40 degrees CCW.

Ex Kevin Vinton-Tom Deck 2023-The Clackamas Collection

LOT 291 1817 N-17 R4 VG10 . Rather glossy dark steel brown on the devices with lighter brown in protected areas. No roughness, just minor contact marks. A dull horizontal nick under the bust tip is the best identifying mark. MDS, Grellman state e, with die cracks on the reverse and the right top of the first T in STATES clearly raised towards the rim.
