LOT 286 1817 N-12 R3 PCGS graded AU53 . A sharp, attractive cent, but many of the hair details have been skillfully improved, especially those on the hair buns and under the IB in LIBERTY. Retoned olive and steel with traces of darker carbon on a few high spots, particularly on the date. Flowline frost covers the protected areas on both sides. A light nick just right of the eye and two reddish brown spots at STA can help identify this cent. MDS, Grellman state d, with a strong crack (tiny cud) connecting the tops of the 1 & 7. Our grade is EF40+ sharpness net VF25. 1594.53/21328551

LOT 287 1817 N-13 R1 AU58 . Lustrous light steel brown and tan with subtle light bluish steel overtones on the obverse. Sharply struck with no wear but there is a patch of reddish roughness at the first A in AMERICA. Otherwise just a few minor contact marks including a nick left of the front edge of the coronet. EDS, Grellman state a. The dentils are sharp and the die line that connects the feet of the I & C in AMERICA is clear. Most likely from the Randall Hoard of mint state cents. Graded MS60+ by Del Bland.

LOT 288 1817 N-13 R1 ANACS graded EF45 . Attractive glossy chocolate brown with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the devices. Smooth with trivial marks in the field before the face and light friction on the devices. Sharply struck EDS, Grellman state a. The dentils are crisp around both sides and the die line connecting the bottoms of the I & C in AMERICA is sharp. Most likely from the famous Randall Hoard of mint state cents. Our grade is EF40 with the eye appeal of a slightly higher grade. 4462791
