EARLY AMERICAN COPPER SOCIETY AUCTION 2025
LOT 292 1818 N-7 R1 ANACS graded MS61 Brown . Lustrous light olive and bluish steel. Satiny and very attractive but there are a couple obvious nicks in the field right of star 3 and another on the bust. LDS, Grellman state d, with a small but clearly defined cud connecting the O in OF to the rim above. In addition there is a previously unreported fine die crack from the tip of the coronet through star 5 to the dentils. The always-present crack connecting stars 6 & 7 is clear. Our grade is net AU58. 7753899
LOT 294 1819/8 N-1 R-1 Large Date PCGS AU55 . Light ruddy brown with light steel highlights and deeper steel areas at stars 4-5 and ED in UNITED. There are minor nick sni the upper hair and a couple in front of the forehead, as well as specks of old verdigris in the hair over RTY. EDS(a) with several delicate die cracks through the stars. Our grade is AU50 net XF45 . 1603.55/28555290
LOT 293 1818 N-9 R3 VF35 . Sharpness AU50 or slightly better but there is a collection of scratches right of star 12 and a few more very light ones right of star 2. Otherwise the surfaces are lustrous and the toning is an attractive tan and light olive. There are a few small spots of darker toning on both sides and the spot under the T in CENT contains a trace of fine verdigris. MDS, Grellman state c, with flowlined fields and a very narrow rim cud from just right of star 7 to above star 8. Looks nicer than it may sound.
LOT 295 1819/8 R1 Overdate 9 over 8 EF45 . Sharpness close to mint state but cleaned and retoned frosty olive brown mixed with light greenish olive and steel. Just a hint of friction on the highpoints with only trivial marks. A tiny tick on the right point of star 3 can identify this cent. EDS, die state a. The overdate feature is sharp.
