EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 283 1817 N-9 R2 ANACS graded VF35 . Attractive glossy olive brown and chocolate. Frost shows in protected areas and this cent has excellent eye appeal. The only marks are a faint diagonal scratch at the top of the eye and a light diagonal nick under the O in ONE. EDS+, Grellman state a, with fine radial die flowlines from the dentils on both sides but the die lines at the right foot of the first 1 and down from the throat are still visible. Our grade is VF30. LOT 284 1817 N-10 R1 ANACS graded AU50 . Frosty chocolate brown and steel with lighter steel brown in protected areas. Slightly sharper but there is a dull scrape on the upright of the 7 into star 13 and a dull vertical scratch through the E in ONE with a couple nicks below. The marks are not distracting and this cent has excellent eye appeal. MDS, Grellman state b, with crumbling in the dentils left of the lower point of star 2 but before the “screw” marks were added right of the second S in STATES. Our grade is EF40. 4462790 Ex R. LOT 285 1817 N-11 R1 PCGS graded AU50, CAC Approved . Frosty chocolate brown and steel with peeps of tan in a few protected areas. Nearly flawless, just lightly worn on the devices. A tiny pinprick right of star 8 and a few tiny marks over NT in CENT are the only notable marks. E-MDS, Grellman state a, with clearly defined dentils on both sides. Struck very slightly off center to K-6 leaving some dentils shorter than normal, particularly on the reverse. A very nice cent. Our grade is EF40.
