 TERMINAL S-247 WITH TWO CUDS

yes LOT 249 1803 S-247 R3 Mumps Obverse PCGS XF Details, Environmental Damage . Dark olive brown and steel with lighter steel brown and chocolate toning on the obverse highpoints. Very fine roughness covers the planchet and the surfaces are close to matte with a dusting of light green verdigris covering the fields and protected areas. Perhaps a proper brushing could bring more life back to this cent. No marks or verdigris. Extremely rare terminal die state, Breen state III late. The die crack that arcs through the top of the U in UNITED is strong and there are tiny rim cud breaks at either end of this crack: one over the N and another under the 1 in the denominator. Another great die state in this EAC sale. Our grade is VF25 sharpness net F12. The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS label. 36359.97/32777638

Ex Thomas D. Reynolds Collection, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/12/2017:206-Erik Schneckloth Collection (The attribution and Reynolds provenance are noted on the PCGS label) (The holder is scuffed)
