EXTREMELY RARE 1811 C-1 WITH 2-STAR CUD
yes LOT 56
1811 C-1 R7 (as a die state) Fair-2 . Sharpness at least G4 with some details better, but the surfaces are covered with moderate roughness. No verdigris but there are a few dull contact marks on both sides including a pinch or dent at the right bottom of the reverse. In spite of the poor surfaces the date is complete and easily readable and most of the legends are clear. Dull dark steel grey. Extremely rare M-LDS, Manley state 4.0, Fuhrman state 5, with a strong cud break at stars 1 & 2. About 8 are known with the 2-star cud break, and none is in high grade. The famous Missouri Cabinet Collection, the finest collection of half cents ever assembled, had an AG-3 example of the die state. Removed from a PCGS slab graded Genuine, G Details, Damage (PCGS label #35239.98/81421829 included, and it shows the attribution). Graded Fair-2 by Noyes, his photo #10645. Another very important die state for the specialist.

1825 C-1 R3 EF40 . Five points sharper with great color and eye appeal, but there is a very light rim bruise under the 25 that also shows at TE in UNITED. Otherwise choice. Glossy light olive with traces of frosty light tan in some protected areas. Sharply struck MDS, Manley state 2.0. The reverse is rotated 110 degrees clockwise. Ex Bill Weber 4/2/1992-Mike Demling, 2015 EAC Sale, McCawley & Yancey Auctions 5/2/2015:33 (includes the Demling collection envelope and lot ticket)
