EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS
LOT 46 1805 C-1 R2- Repunched 5 NGC XF Details, Improperly Cleaned . Attractive glossy olive brown and chocolate with traces of flowline frost in protected areas. The color is beautiful and totally original in spite of the NGC comments, but there is a dull and relatively strong scratch at TY in LIBERTY. Perhaps that is what they intended. Otherwise just trivial marks of no concern. MDS. The repunching at the top of the 5 is clear. Our grade is VF30+ net VF25+. 2543471-003

1805 C-2 R5+ Small 5 with Stems, PCGS graded VG10 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with specks of darker brown in the field behind the portrait. No roughness and the eye appeal is quite nice for the grade, but there are light scratches on the obverse, mostly on the portrait and in the field behind the head. The reverse is choice and well struck for this variety. EDS. Our grade is VG10 (10/8 on the obverse, 12+ on the reverse) . The Small 5-Stems features are noted on the PCGS label. A nice example of this rare variety in spite of the defects, and it comes with a superb provenance for a half cent, 1087.10/21287741

1806 C-1 R1 Small 6 without Stems F15 . Sharpness VF25 where properly struck but there is a large low spot covering the right half of the reverse. Both sides have light scratches, strongest near the dentils off the hair ribbon. Looks like there was a big blob of grease on the reverse die leaving one of the largest low spots I’ve seen on a half cent. Glossy light olive brown.
LOT 48
1805 C-4 R2- Large 5 with Stems, PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved . Frosty tan and light brown with darker steel brown on the highpoints. There is a puff of darker steel brown toning in the field left of the lower curls and the only significant marks are a couple ticks on the upper half of the 8 and a short, dull struck-through line near the dentils off the lower end of the hair ribbon (as struck). M-LDS, Manley state 2.0, Fuhrman state 2, with a fine die crack through the bust tip. Our grade is AU50+. The Large 5, Stems features are noted on the PCGS label. 1090.58/14936355
