LOT 690 1847 Brunk P-748 Counterstamped PROCTOR . Counterstamped PROCTOR once on both sides, though the obverse stamp appears to have an initial that didn’t make the planchet. 2 known. Notable deep digs across both sides. Medium brown, chocolate brown, and deeper maroon tones. Only 47 of the date is visible.

LOT 686 1846 N-17 R4+ VF25+ . Glossy medium brown and light olive brown. Smooth with minor contact marks, mostly tiny nicks in the field before the portrait. M-LDS, die state c, with die cracks on the reverse.

LOT 691 1848 Brunk M-781 Counterstamped W.V. MOBBS . Counterstamped W.V. MOBBS three times on the obverse, one atop the other and the last intersecting, and once on the reverse. There is an old scrape that partially obliterates the profile, and a notable rim nick over TE in STATES. Medium olive brown, cleaned on the reverse with some artificial orange on the central areas. Full date and legends.

LOT 687 1847 N-27 R4 Repunched 18 VF25 . Glossy light to medium brown with frost in protected areas on the reverse. Minor contact marks, mostly on the cheek, and a couple spots of fine carbon at IC. LDS, die state c, with die cracks on the reverse.

Brunk Counterstamped W.L.SWIFT . Counterstamped W.L.SWIFT once on each side. Dark brown with dark old scale built up in some protected areas around the peripheries and devices of each side, light roughness on the surfaces. There is also a diagonal scratch from 0 in the date through star 13 up above star 12. Readable date and legends. Only 1 known. S-1176

LOT 688 1847 N-37 R1 EF45+ Silver Plated . A sharp, lightly worn cent that was plated with silver or a similar very bright metal. The plating is thin and very smooth, but there are traces of undertype copper on a few highpoints. Odd.

LOT 693 1851 Brunk R-232 Counterstamped J.H.RICE . Counterstamped J.H.RICE on the reverse. Rather glossy light brown with some dark crud built up in the protected areas. Free of marks on rather glossy smooth surfaces, some CARE or something similar likely applied. Bold date and full legends except those within the stamp. 2 Known.

Counterstamped Shurtleff . Counterstamped 4 timed with R.H. Shurtleff on the obverse. Medium olive and pale steel browns with deeper maroon in some obverse protected areas. Bold date and legends. Not listed by Brunk. R.H.
