EARLY AMERICAN COPPER SOCIETY AUCTION 2025

LOT 667 1798 S-187 R1 Small 8, Style II Hair G4 . Glossy chocolate brown. Smooth and quite nice for the grade; a planchet flake at the D in UNITED is the only notable defect. EDS.

LOT 663 1798 S-169 R3 Small 8, Style II Hair G6 . A bit sharper with fine roughness in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris but a couple small pits and contact marks including a minor rim bruise under the 17. The date and legends are clear.

LOT 668 1806

Brunk Countestamped PEARSALLS . Counterstamped PEARSALLS on the reverse. Medium brown and steel with some rub revealing faded red on some high points. Readable date, partial legends, mostly outlined devices. P-289

LOT 664 1798 S-174 R2 Small 8, Style II Hair . Slightly sharper with very fine roughness. No verdigris or notable marks, and the eye appeal is nice for the grade. Olive brown with lighter brown on the devices. Rare EDS, Breen state I, before the usual die clashmarks on the reverse.

LOT 669 Brunk R-163 Counterstamped H.REES Classic Head Cent . Counterstamped H.REES on the obverse, a blacksmith from Philadelphia, PA. Moderately corroded surfaces with granular scale and verdigris across the deep steel surfaces. Enough of the portrait and wreath are outlined to easily identify this as a Classic Head cent, but none of the date remains.

LOT 665 1798 S-177 R4+ Small 8, Style II Hair AG3 . A couple points sharper, particularly on the obverse, but lightly corroded on the obverse, moderately so on the reverse. No verdigris or notable contact marks, but there is some dark scale on the reverse. Partly glossy dark chocolate with some lighter brown on the reverse. MDS. The date is strong.

LOT 670 Counterstamped H.D. Rowell Matron Head Cent . Counterstamped H.D.ROWELL on both sides. Enough of the portrait and wreath remain on each side to identify this as a matron head cent, but not much other detail remains. Not listed by Brunk.

LOT 666 1798 S-182 R4 Small 8, Style II Hair G5 . Glossy medium brown with a slight reddish brown tint. Smooth with minor marks including a pair of very light but fresh hairline scratches at TY. The date and legends are easily readable.
