LOT 439 1848 N-46 R-7 VG8 . F12 sharpness but the obverse has been recolored a glossy ebony steel with lighter medium brown on the high points and brick red around star 5, while the reverse is lightly corroded with micro-granularity across the maroon and steel brown surfaces. There is a rim bruise over S-O in STATES OF, and otherwise trivial marks scattered on the fields and devices. CC#3 of only 7 known of the variety in the Grellman census.
LOT 436 1848 N-32 R-5 AG3 . A point sharper but there is a notable dig o nthe rim between stars 7 and 8. Free of notable marks otherwise. Glossy medium brown on smooth, hard surfaces. MDS. Other than the dig this is rather appealing for the grade.

LOT 440 1849 N-2 R2 NGC graded MS62 Brown . Very attractive frosty chocolate brown with lighter steel brown in protected areas, especially on the reverse. A sharp cent with excellent eye appeal. The only marks are two small, light rim bruises: one just left of the date and another at TE in UNITED. EDS, die state c, with crumbling in the top of the N in ONE and connecting the tops of the C & E in CENT, but without the small lump under the first S in STATES. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF45+. 6685648-001
LOT 437 1848 N-36 R5 VF25 . Five points sharper but recolored glossy medium steel brown and light chocolate. There are some very faint hairlines in the fields and a small diagonal nick off the enc of the nose. Otherwise quite nice with smooth surfaces. E-MDS, Grellman state a, with a strong vertical line up from the dentils under the first 8.

LOT 441 1849 N-2 R2 PCI graded MS63 Brown . Glossy light chocolate blending to frosty olive brown in protected areas. Sharply struck with nice eye appeal, but there is a touch of friction on the highpoints. The only notable marks are a dull nick or scratch close above the head under star 7 and a spot of fine carbon at the left top of the N in ONE. MDS, die state l late or m early, with a dot under the first S in STATES and shallow crumbling under the left top of the N in ONE. Our grade is net AU50+. (The holder is scuffed.) 210842011
LOT 438 1848 N-44 R-5+ F12 . VF sharpness but cleaned with faint hairlines left on the fields and devices, a corrosion spot behind the portrait at the neck, and nicks on the neck and before the nose. Glossy medium brown and steel browns. MDS(b).
