LOT 424 1847 N-37 R1 AU50 . Frosty brown and light chocolate with lustrous light olive brown in protected areas. Sharply struck with trivial marks and very little friction on the devices. A half dozen tiny specks of darker toning on the cheek and a tick on the middle of the nose are the notable marks. E-MDS. Comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 425 1847 N-38/16 R1 EF45+ . Frosty brown and tan with slightly darker steel brown on the highpoints. A puff of slightly darker steel toning at the ear and another in the field under the chin are the only notable marks. Sharply struck and lightly worn, close to AU50. EDS, die state a, with fine die lines from the inner curl and no die clashmarks. Comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 426 1847 N-38/16 R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved . Lustrous light bluish steel brown with generous traces of mellowed mint red showing on both sides. The surfaces are satiny and this cent has great eye appeal. Trivial marks including a puff of slightly darker bluish steel toning under star 1 and a nick in the hair between stars 7 & 8. LDS, die state d, with die weak die clashmarks on both sides and a fine crack at S-O (Newcomb’s #16). Our grade is MS62+. (The holder is lightly scuffed.) 1877.65/43858841
