LOT 414 1847 N-30 R4 Repunched 1, PCGS graded AU50, CAC Approved . Glossy light to medium brown with darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. A very attractive cent with light wear and trivial contact marks. Two very light horizontal scratches on the neck and a small, subtle puff of darker toning over star 2 are the notable marks. MDS, die state b, with a small lump on the upper edge of the ribbon loop below EN in CENT. The repunching on the 1 is sharp. Our grade is EF40+. The attribution and COL Ellsworth Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. (The front of the holder is scuffed.) 37340.50/28324347

LOT 416 1847 N-31 R5 Repunched 47 EF40 . The so-called Large 7 over Small 7 variety. Sharpness near AU50 but lightly cleaned leaving microscopic hairlines in all but the protected areas. Otherwise the only marks are a few small ticks on the chin. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown with lighter brown and tan where the hairlines show. Sharply struck MDS, die state c, with fine die cracks on the reverse. The “Large 7 over Small 7” feature is obvious. Tied for CC#11 in the Grellman census.

LOT 415 1847 N-31 R5 Repunched 7, NGC graded MS62 Brown . The so-called Large 7 over Medium 7 variety. Frosty light brown and tan. A small nick on the front edge of the neck is the only notable mark. Lightly worn with very nice eye appeal, but calling this piece Mint State does not reflect kindly on the graders at NGC. LDS, die state d, with die cracks on the reverse. The repunching on the 47 is clear. Our grade is EF40+ . (The holder is scuffed.) 1977954-021
