No roughness but there is some soft dirt in protected areas around the wreath. EDS, Manley state 1.0, Fuhrman state 1, with no visible die cracks on the obverse. Our grade is VF20. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. 3313792-003 $4,250 Ex the “MJT” collection, Heritage Auctions 7/7/2011:3030-Heritage Auctions 1/5/2012:4049-Chris McCawley 3/18/2017-The J. LOT 67 1808 C-3 R1 AU58 PCGS. Frosty light chocolate with tan in protected areas and slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints. The only significant defects are a small splash of dark mahogany at the left wreath stem and a smaller one at ST, and these areas show microscopic roughness. Otherwise the planchet is smooth with trivial marks and the eye appeal is quite nice, especially on the obverse. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0 early, Fuhrman state 1 late, with very light streaks of die rust in the field above the end of the bust. Struck with the reverse rotated about 160 degrees clockwise. Our grade is AU50. 1107.58/81233682 $4,250 Ex Chris McCawley 6/2/2017-The J. Torres Collection of Half Cents
