LOT 404 1849 N-22 R-1 XF40. AU sharpness but cleaned and nicely retoned an even medium brown with subtle iridescent bluish steel tones. There are faint hairlines on the obverse, most noticeable in the lower right field, and a nick on the border right of F in OF. Smooth, glossy surfaces.
LOT 401 1847 N-26 R-3 PCGS MS63BN. Choice light chocolate brown with a dark spot on the rim over star 7. There is a light hairline scratch over star 1, and a couple ticks on liberty’s cheek and neck. There are also low areas inside the left wreath, as struck. Frosty mint luster covers the surfaces. E-MDS, die state c. Our grade is MS60. 1877.63/33328718

LOT 405 1850 N-24 R-5 F12. Glossy chocolate brown with dark olive toning. There is a tiny rim nick at STAT and a minor rim bruise at TE in UNITED, trivial marks otherwise. No roughness or verdigris.
LOT 402 1848 N-1 R-1 Repunched Date NGC MS63BN. Frosty medium chocolate brown and steel with splashes of reddish toning. The only mark is a microscopic tick on the throat, hardly noteworthy. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state b. Satiny luster covers the fields and protected areas on both sides. TCC#6 honours in the Grellman census. Our grade is MS60. 4352744-026

LOT 403 1849 N-2 R-2+ PCGS MS63BN. Beautiful light steel brown with bluish steel overtones and traces of mint red on both sides. There is a dark toning spot at E in UNITED, otherwise free of notable marks with highly lustrous surfaces. EDS, state a. Tied for CC#7 overall but #1 of the die state. LOT 407 1855 N-9 R-1 Knob on Ear PCGS XF40. Glossy attractive medium chocolate brown surfaces. There is what appears to be a thin piece of white plastic or fiber above the shoulder, and another piece of fiber in the field before the nose. As for actual marks on the coin, a tiny rim nick under the date and trivial tick right of star 2 are the most notable. Smooth surfaces. M-LDS die state f. Our grade is VF35. 1913.40/35292601
