LOT 324 1808 S-277 R-2 VG8. Fine sharpness but fine granularity covers the surfaces and there are trace specks of old verdigris in some protected areas. Dark olive brown. M-LDS, Breen state VIII, with the bisecting die crack at D with a small cud forming, extending through the wreath and ON, over E, through the wreath to the rim at AM, and the second curved die crack from D through the wreath and last S in STATES. Other that TA in STATES, full legends and date.

LOT 321 1808 S-277 R-2 VF20. Mostly light steel gently mottled with light brown. There is a minor nick on the chin, another over the bust tip, and trivial marks in the fields. M-LDS, Breen state VI, “12.5 stars” with the first star very weak, and the reverse die cracks well developed. There are also strong clash marks on both sides. Nice smooth and glossy surfaces.

LOT 322 1808 S-277 R-2 F15+. Dark olive and light steel with streaks of tan on the lower reverse and around D in UNITED. A small nick right of star 5 is the only worth noting. M-LDS, Breen state VIII, with the “12 star” obverse and the reverse bisecting crack from the rim at D to the rim at AM. Strong clash marks on the reverse.

LOT 325 1808 S-279 R-1 VF20. Glossy medium brown and steel brown surfaces with hints of underlying tan on the reverse, likely from an old retoning. Free of notable marks with smooth, glossy surfaces. LDS, Breen state V with the heavy clash marks on both sides and the distinct break at the leaf below A(T).

LOT 326 1809 S-280 R-2 F15. XF40 sharpness but rather dark with very light granularity on the surfaces. Mostly rather glossy dark olive and steel gently mottled with hints of lighter brown. MDS, Breen state IV, with a fine die crack from the base of E(S) down to the wreath, and light clash marks on the central right reverse.

LOT 323 1808 S-277 R-2 VG10. 15 points sharper but there are several pits scattered on both sides, fine roughness around the reverse peripheries, and the surfaces have been cleaned. Now toned light brown and bluish steel tones. MDS, with the bisecting die break from the rim at D through the wreath and ON, above E, the wreath and to the rim at AM. All 13 stars are clear.
