LOT 287 1803 S-256 R-3 VF25. Mostly medium olive with hints of lighter brown and steel tones. The only marks are a couple faint pin scratches in the lower left obverse field. LDS, Breen state V with several fine die cracks on the reverse and a rim cud at (S)T. Glossy smooth surfaces with nice eye appeal.

LOT 290 1803 S-257 R-2 G4. VF20 sharpness but light corroded with granular surfaces and bent just left of the date. There are also rim bruises and nicks along both sides. Semi-glossy deep steel patina with hints of lighter chocolate on some high points. Weak but readable date and legends except TA in STATES. LDS, Breen state V. Close date, short fraction bar.

LOT 291 1803 S-258 R-1 VF25. Attractive light brown and light steel, the latter mostly on the devices. There is a small scratch right of Y in LIBERTY, a couple tiny nicks on the rim over IC, and trivial scattered marks. LDS, Breen state IV, with a fine curved die crack from the dentils at K-9 down through the lower hair. Smooth surfaces.

LOT 288 1803 S-256 R-3 F15. XF45 sharpness but corroded with micro-porosity on the surfaces and more notable roughness along the edges, strongest over LIBERTY and UNITED STATES. The only marks otherwise are faint pin scratches behind the lower curls and over the bust tip. Dark brown, ruddy chocolate, and steel surfaces. E-MDS, Breen state II.

LOT 292 1803 S-259 R-4 Ghost 3 VF25+. VF30+ but there is a tiny oxidation spot at BE in LIBERTY and numerous light marks scattered on the fields and devices. The most notable marks are a few pin scratches over ER, and another scratch at F in OF. Olive brown with underlying light brown and subtle steel tones on the obverse, the reverse more of the same but in a mottled pattern wit more light brown showing. M-LDS, Breen state III, with a retained cud break over TAT in STATES and smaller die crack through D in UNITED. Graded VF35 net VF30 and TCC#7 in the Noyes census, his photo #32339. Smooth, glossy surfaces.

LOT 289 1803 S-257 R-2 Close Date VF25. XF40 sharpness with scattered marks on both sides and very fine micro-pitting visible under a glass. Nothing major, but there is a cluster before the portrait and one on the chest. Rather glossy medium brown and olive with a dark steel splash in front of the eye. EDS, Breen state I. Sharp details.
