LOT 278 1803 S-250 R-3 F12. VF35 but there are scratches on the devices and fields, and light corrosion with scattered pits. Some of those pits contain old verdigris and the surfaces are now a dark brown and deep maroon patina. MDS. Sharp details.

LOT 275 1803 S-245 R-3 F15+. VF35 sharpness but lightly corroded with a few pits around the obverse peripheries, and fine granularity and shallow scale on the reverse. Semi-glossy chocolate and dark olive browns. LDS, Breen state III, with the strong reverse rim cud break over RICA.

LOT 276 1803 S-247 R-3 Mumps VF30. Glossy chocolate brown and light steel with underlying light brown. There are minor nicks on the portrait and fields, a few on the neck and chest the most notable. EDS, Breen state I, with the “Mumps” feature under the chin clear. Smooth, hard surfaces.

LOT 279 1803 S-251 R-2 VF30+. VF35 but there is a very faint vertical pin scratch that blends in well, and a tiny rim bump at K-10. Pleasing chocolate brown and light steel on smooth, glossy surfaces. MDS, Breen state III, with fine die cracks on the upper reverse. Short Fraction Bar.

LOT 280 1803 S-252 R-2 VG8. A couple points sharper but there are several marks on both sides and some old crud in the reverse protected areas. The most notable include old, small scratches behind the mid and lower hair, another over BE in LIBERTY, and a nick on the denominator. Semi-glossy dark chocolate brown. TDS, Breen state VIII with the strong rim cud break connecting the lower hair curls and 18. Bold date and legends.

LOT 277 1803 S-249 R-2 Mumps 100/000 VG8. F12 but there are numerous trivial marks scattered on both sides, with a more notable vertical scratch at N in ONE. Dark olive brown and steel surfaces. EDS, Breen state I. Strong date and legends, the corrected fraction is clear.
