LOT 246 1802 S-229 R-2 F15. XF sharpness but there are numerous bruises along the rims of both sides. The most notable include one at R(T), right of the bust tip, under 02, at D in UNITED ST in STATES, an AM in AMERICA. Mostly medium olive brown on smooth, glossy surfaces. MDS, Breen state IV.

LOT 250 1802 S-233 R-2 F15. 5 points sharper but there are rim dents at TE in UNITED and ST in STATES. There are also a couple nicks over E and I in AMERICA. Mostly steel with ruddy brown in the protected areas on the obverse, olive and underlying lighter brown on the reverse. MDS, Breen state IV. Smooth surfaces, strong date and legends.

LOT 247 1802 S-230 R-1 VF20. 15 points sharper but there are fine scratches across the obverse portrait and fields, as a few at RICA. Trivial marks and abrasions otherwise. Glossy steel and ruddy chocolate browns on smooth surfaces. EDS+, Breen die state III, struck slightly off center towards LIBER.

LOT 251 1802 S-234 R-3 VF20. XF sharpness but uniform granularity covers the surfaces which have been cleaned long ago and now toned medium brown and bluish steel. E-MDS, Breen state II with fine die breaks through LIBERTY. Free of notable marks, sharp details.

LOT 248 1802 S-231 R-1 Stemless F15. VF25 but there are 4 digs on the portrait at the cheek the ear, the lower neck, and in the hair behind the neck. There also several more trivial marks on the portrait and fields. Chocolate brown and steel. E-MDS, Breen state III. Strong date and legends, smooth surfaces.

LOT 252 1802 S-234 R-4 F15. 15 points sharper but there is fine porosity on the surfaces and a notable nick in the upper hair. Glossy dark brown and deep steel. LDS, Breen state VI with the “dripping paint” obverse rim cud break through LIBERTY. Strong date and legends.

LOT 249 1802 S-232 R-1 VF35. XF40 sharpness but there are a few light marks including pin scratches on the cheek and field before the mouth, and tiny rim nicks over AME. Attractive steel with underling golden brown, especially the reverse. LDS, Breen state VII with a strong rim cud over ATE and clash marks on both sides.
