LOT 230 1801 S-218 R-5+ 3 Error Rev VG8. Sharpness F12 or better but covered with fine to moderate granularity. No verdigris or contact marks and the eye appeal isn’t too bad. The best identifying mark is a small puff of darker toning at the ear lobe. MDS, Breen state I, with obvious swelling at BERTY but none at the lowest curl. The date and legends are clear and all 3 of the die-cutter errors on the reverse are clear. Graded VF20 net VG7 and tied for CC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #28512. Comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 228 1801 S-215 R-4+ G6. VG7 but there are a couple scratches on the reverse through E and E in UNITED to the wreath. Only the most trivial of marks otherwise. Glossy medium steel with hints of lighter brown in some protected areas. M-LDS, Breen state VI. Smooth, hard surfaces.

LOT 231 1801 S-219 R-2 3 Error Rev VG10+. A couple points but there are numerous nicks scattered on the fields and devices, nothing major but numerous enough to prevent the higher grade. Semi-glossy olive brown and steel. M-LDS, Breen state V. Smooth surfaces, all three errors on the reverse clear.

LOT 229 1801 S-216 R-1 VG10. F15 sharpness but there are tiny spots of shallow corrosion scattered on either side, most notably above the hair braid, behind the bottom hair curls, and on the rim over RICA. Medium olive browns surfaces gently mottled with deeper steel and reddish chocolate. Bold date and legends.
