LOT 174 1798 S-163 R-4 VF20. 5 points sharper but there is a minor rim bruise at K-2 on the reverse and minor nicks scattered on the fields and devices. None too distracting but enough to warrant mention. Glossy steel and chocolate browns on smooth, attractive surfaces. E-MDS, Breen die state II. CC#5 for this variety.
LOT 175 1798 S-163 R-4 F15. 5 points sharper but there are several minor rim bumps and trivial marks on either side. The only worth noting are a rim bump right of the date and a cluster of 4 marks under the top leaf of the left wreath branch. MDS, Breen state V. Smooth surfaces. Graded VF20 net F12 and TCC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #39999.

LOT 176 1798 S-164 R-4 AG3. G6 sharpness but light roughness covers the surfaces and there is a scratch through the portrait from the chin to the hair braid. Dark olive brown and bluish steel. LIBERTY is clear and most of the reverse legends can be made out ih hand. TDS Breen state VIII with the bulge on the lower obverse obliterating 179.
