 DOUBLE STRUCK

LOT 141 1797 S-127 R-4- VG8. VF20 sharpness but corroded with magenta and rosy areas of shallow scale and fine roughness on the surfaces. Glossy medium to dark olive with lighter brown on the high points of the portrait. Double struck, the second strike rotated 30 degrees counter-clockwise and 25% off center towards K-11. There is a clear second profile in the hair and 7 on the shoulder. LDS, Breen state VI. Graded F15 net G5 by Noyes, his photo #39463.

LOT 142 1797 S-128 R-3 VG7. F12 but there is pitting on the reverse with traces of old verdigris within. Mostly dark olive brown with deeper ruddy brown and maroon tones, the latter mostly on the reverse. MDS, Breen state VI, and the planchet is clipped behind the hair braid. Smooth obverse surfaces, strong date and legends.

LOT 144 1797 S-130 R-2 F15. VF25+ but there are several rim dents and bruises on both sides. The most notable are above RTY, STATES, and under the fraction. Glossy medium to dark olive browns, lighter on the high points of the obverse and most of the reverse. MDS. Smooth, hard surfaces. Graded VF25 net F12 and TCC#36 by Noyes, his photo #26924.

LOT 143 1797 S-128 R-3 Stems, Rev of 97 G6. Fine sharpness but numerous nicks and abrasions are scattered across both sides. There are also patches of rose and maroon patina from shallow, old oxidation. Others medium brown and olive surfaces with bold, complete date and legends.

LOT 145 1797 S-131 R-2 VF25. XF40 sharpness but there are two pits in the field above the hair braid and notable marks near the rim before the chin, a dig on the dentils near O in OF, and minor rim bumps at E in AMERICA and the ribbon tail. Even steel brown on smooth surfaces. M-LDS, Breen state IV. Graded XF40 net VF20 and TCC#16 in the Noyes census, his photo #25704.
