LOT 133 1796 S-115 R-3 AG3. G6 but granularity covers the surfaces and there are old hairline scratches on the lower portrait. Dark olive and dark steel surfaces. E-MDS, Breen state IV with the obverse die crack through 178 and reverse crack at the second T in STATES. Strong date.

LOT 137 1797 S-121b R-3 Gripped Edge VG10. G5 but there are tiny pits scattered on both sides, more so on the reverse. There are also minor rim bruises at AM in AMERICA and behind the cap. Semi glossy medium brown and steel. LDS. There is a small planchet clip over ER in LIBERTY. Worn but readable date and most legends in hand.

LOT 134 1796 S-116 R-5- VG10. Fine sharpness but there is light roughness on the reverse around the peripheries. There is also a minor rim bruise below the right ribbon tail. Otherwise semi-glossy medium brown and steel with hints of underlying lighter brown. Strong date and legends. LDS, Breen state II.

LOT 138 1797 S-124 R-5+ AG3. Semi-glossy medium brown and steel. There are rim bruises behind the lowest hair curl and under the bust tip, and a hairline scratch from the eye up through the hair. Smooth, attractive surfaces for the grade. LDS.

LOT 135 1797 S-120b R-2 Gripped Edge VF25. XF40 sharpness but there is microscopic granularity visible under a glass that hardly distracts. Glossy dark olive brown surfaces with light steel on some obverse high points. M-LDS, Breen state V. Struck 5% off center towards K-8.5. Graded VF30 net VF20 and TCC#17 by Noyes, his photo #28948. Dark but glossy with nice eye appeal.

LOT 139 1797 S-125 R-5 G6. Mostly olive brown and steel with ruddy chocolate and deeper charcoal tones. There is very fine micro granularity on the reverse surfaces, the obverse is glossy and smoother. LDS, Breen state III. Obverse swelling obscures the date but it is readable in hand and the legends are clear.

LOT 136 1797 S-121b R-3 Gripped Edge F15+. Attractive chocolate brown and steel on rather glossy surfaces due to a light burnishing. Only a few trivial marks, including one on the cheek, one on the lower throat, and one below the top leaf on the right wreath branch. M-LDS, Breen state IV. Strong date and legends.

LOT 140 1797 S-126 R-3 F15+. Glossy steel brown with hints of ruddy chocolate. There is old, dark crud in some protected areas, free of notable marks. E-MDS, Breen state III. Smooth, hard surfaces.
