LOT 148 1827 N-6 R3 PCGS graded MS63 Brown . Glossy golden tan and light steel brown with mint luster covering the fields and protected areas. A beautiful cent with solid mint state eye appeal, but there is a hint of rub on the very highest points of the devices. Essentially flawless except for a minor curved planchet clip that affects only the dentils at the 7 towards star 13 and the opposing ones at the O in OF. LDS, die state b. The earlier dashes right of the second S in STATES are gone. Graded AU55 and tied for CC#4 in the Noyes census, his photo #37324. Our grade is AU55. 36853.63/30821482 Ex Frank McElwain-Thomas D. LOT 149 1827 N-7 R3 PCGS graded MS65 Brown . Lustrous light chocolate and bluish steel brown with a few hints of golden reddish tan faded down from mint color in protected areas. Satiny mint frost covers the planchet and the eye appeal is excellent. Only a few microscopic marks, including a tiny hairline between the date and star 13 and a small nick or pre-striking planchet mark close over the nostril. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state a, with traces of repunching visible on the 8 in the date and fine die flowlines covering the fields. The parallel dashes right of the second S in STATES are clear. Called MS65 Choice and tied for CC#1 in the Noyes census, his photo #20883. Bland says MS63 and tied for CC#1. Our grade is MS64. 36856.65/25134950 Ex Andrew C.
