Terry Denman Collection of Middle Dates Part 1
EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS
LOT 115 1823 N-2 R2 PCGS graded VF35 . Glossy light to medium chocolate brown and olive with a few tiny spots of lighter tan at ERIC The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal is excellent in spite of some small contact marks scattered over the obverse. The notable ones are a dull nick on the lower point of star 4 and two diagonal nicks under the right side of the C in CENT. Scarce LDS, die state f, with a cud break that reaches slightly inside the dentils from star 5 to star 6. A very nice example of this tough die state. Our grade is VF25. 36757.35/08573359

LOT 116 1823 Private Restrike, PCGS graded MS66 Brown . Very attractive light chocolate and steel brown with faint overtones of light bluish steel in the fields. Traces of faded red remain in protected areas on both sides. Virtually flawless in every respect. LDS, die state g, with two die cracks on each side, and all the cracks are strong. These dies have given up the charade. Certainly one of the final strikes from this famous pair of dies, struck shortly after 1879 according to Walter Breen. Our grade is MS65. 81627.66/13088139
