Terry Denman Collection of Middle Dates Part 1
THE TERRY DENMAN COLLECTION
CONDITION CENSUS 1818 N-2
LOT 50 1818 N-2 R4+ EF45 . Frosty tan and light steel brown with hints lighter golden tan faded down from mint color in protected areas. The fields and protected areas are satiny and lustrous, and this cent has very nice eye appeal. Would rate a higher grade but there is a dull rim bruise at star 7. Otherwise this cent is choice and the strike is sharp. M-LDS, die state f, with strong die cracks at UNITED and a partially raised retained cud break over NIT. A wonderful example of this rare intermediate die state. Graded AU50 net EF45 andCC#3 in the Noyes census for the variety, his photo #27777. Comes with a nice provenance that is approaching a century old.

LOT 51 1818 N-2 R4+ G6 . Glossy olive brown and chocolate. Smooth with minor marks, just worn. LDS, die state I, with a raised retained cud break at NITED nearly to the adjacent S. There is a “dimple” over IT that indicates this is a retained cud. Very nice for the grade.
