EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

 EQUAL FINEST 1829 N-1

LOT 171 1829 N-1 R3 Large Letters, PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved . Lustrous steel brown and olive with lighter steel brown and faded mint red in the protected areas. At least 5% of the reverse still shows brighter mint color. The obverse is choice, void of notable marks, but the reverse has traces of an old fingerprint inside the wreath and a low spot (caused by grease on the die) that weakens UNIT. LDS, die state b, with a fine die crack at ER in AMERICA to the dentils above the adjacent M. Graded MS63 and tied for CC#1 honors in the Noyes census, his photo #21396. Our grade is net MS60+ . 36910.63/30812875

LOT 172 1829 N-2 R2 Large Letters, PCGS graded MS63 Brown . Lustrous steel brown and light chocolate blending to olive. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas. Looks mint state and the eye appeal is really nice, but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. Essentially void of defects. A very tiny nick over the left top of the T in CENT and some darker toning over the second A in AMERICA may help identify this cent. M-LDS, die state b. The cracks at stars 1-4 and 11-13 are clear and the repunching along the left of the upright of N in ONE remains visible. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#4 in the Noyes census, his photo #39237. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. 36913.63/25120853
