LOT 1288 1849 N-16 R5 VF35. Sharpness EF45 but there are several very light rim bruises on both sides, the strongest one at the E in AMERICA. LOT 1289 1849 N-17 R4 AU55. Glossy medium steel brown with traces of faded red on the reverse. Satiny mint luster shows in the fields and protected areas and this cent has mint state eye appeal. Just light friction on the highest points and a few tiny contact marks. A horizontal tick on the earlobe and a small nick on the truncation over the 8 can help identify this cent. E-MDS, die state b. The tops of the C & E in CENT are not connected by crumbling and there is a very fine die crack at ME.
LOT 1291 1849 N-19 R5- EF45. Glossy tan and light brown with steel brown toning on the highpoints. Smooth and choice with light wear and frost in protected areas. A barely visible speck of burgundy toning against the curl left of star 13 is the best identifying mark. EDS, die state a, before crumbling in the top of the N in ONE. Comes with a great provenance for a relatively modest cent.
