LOT 1272 1849 N-5 R4- AU55. Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate with frosty luster in the fields and protected areas. Satiny and flawless with peeps of mint color in a few places and just a hint of friction on the highpoints. LDS, die state j, with all the crumbles listed in the Grellman reference. CC#8 for the variety but finest of state j in the Grellman census.

LOT 1273 1849 N-7 R4 Repunched 18 VF20. Glossy medium brown with light chocolate on the highpoints. Smooth, just worn and void of significant marks. EDS, die state a. The tops of the C & E in CENT are not joined by crumbling and repunching is clearly visible at the tops of the 1 & 8.

CONDITION CENSUS N-7

LOT 1274 1849 N-7 R4 Repunched 18, PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous medium steel brown and light olive with peeps of faded mint color on the obverse and 5-10% of the reverse showing brighter mint red. Satiny and choice with great eye appeal. The only notable marks are a small nick on the jawline over the throat, a dull nick hidden in the die roughness right of star 13, and a barely visible nick on the lower right point of star 6. MDS, die state d, with crumbling inside the top of the N in ONE and obvious die rust and crumbling evident around the stars. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63, and CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. 405649.64/37140939
