TNA HOF Collection Pt 1
LOT 1118 1846 N-14 R2 Tall Date, Repunched 1 AU50. Sharpness very close to mint state but lightly cleaned and retoned glossy medium brown and light chocolate with frosty golden tan in protected areas. Sharp and attractive but this cent deserves a better retoning. The only notable mark is a tiny tick on the neck at the throat. E-MDS, die state a, with lightly flowlined fields and an uncracked reverse. The repunching at the base of the 1 is clear and the dash at the left top of the 8 is visible.

LATE STATE N-14
LOT 1119 1846 N-14 R2 Tall Date, Repunched 1 VF35. Sharpness at least 10 points better but there is a reddish brown area that contains traces of fine corrosion at stars 2-3. The rest of the planchet is frosty light to medium brown except for a couple small spots of reddish brown on the reverse. LDS, die state d, with rim cud breaks at 18 and stars 10-11. The earlier cud break at stars 3-4 is not visible thanks to a narrow rim on that side (as often seen on this variety). Tied for CC#2 of the die state in the Grellman census.

LOT 1120 1846 N-15 R4+ Hole in Ear EF45. Five points sharper with a few nicks on the portrait; otherwise choice. Glossy medium brown with satiny mint frost in protected areas. A dull nick on the eyebrow, a tick on the nostril, and a thin horizontal nick on the cheek are the notable marks. E-MDS, die state b, with a faint die crack through the date and most stars. A radial die crack connects the left top of the U to a dentil above.
