TNA HOF Collection Pt 1

LOT 1112 1846 N-12 R1 Tall Date EF40. At least 5 points sharper but there is some crud (possibly light yellow glue) nestled into some protected areas on the reverse. Otherwise quite nice with light wear and attractive frosty light to medium brown and chocolate toning. A proper bath might justify a few more points. Smooth with trivial marks including two vertical nicks right of the inner curl. E-MDS, die state a (later than the preceding lot, a sequencing error in my book). The dash left of the base of the 4 is weak but visible and the die lines at UN are gone. 

LOT 1113 1846 N-12 R1 Tall Date VF25. At least 5 points sharper but beautifully recolored and there are some small contact marks. Glossy light olive blending to olive brown in protected areas. No roughness but there are a few contact marks on the face including a small dig and short scratch right of the upper lip and nostril. Rare M-LDS, die state f, with a rim cud from star 2.5 to star 5. Tied for CC#6 of the die state in the Grellman census.

THIRD FINEST LATE STATE

LOT 1114 1846 N-12 R1 Tall Date VF35. Five points sharper with a pair of very short scratches under star 2 and traces of crud in some of the protected areas. Nice glossy medium brown. LDS, die state h, with a bold rim cud break from star 2 to star 5 and another from star 5 to star 6. The margins of these rim cuds are sharp (unlike many of those known in this die state). CC#3 of the die state in the Grellman census. Another important die state for the advanced collector of late date cents. Ex Rick DeSanctis, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 9/13/1997:275-R.
