EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS
LOT 1097 1846 N-4 R1 Boldly Repunched Date EF45. Glossy light to medium brown. Sharp and very attractive, just lightly worn on the devices with trivial marks. EDS, die state a. The repunching is strong on all four digits of the date and the reverse is uncracked.

LOT 1099 1846 N-5 R2 Repunched 1 AU58. Lustrous light olive and steel. A very attractive cent with mint state sharpness, but there is a dull nick on the front edge of the neck and a microscopic hairline on the cheek. Nicely struck with satiny surfaces and great eye appeal. MDS, die state c, with two small, clearly defined rim cuds at stars 10 & 11 but no rim cuds on the reverse. Comes with a nice provenance.

LOT 1098 1846 N-4 R1 Boldly Repunched Date AU50+. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas and the eye appeal of this cent is quite nice. Two small nicks on the jawline; otherwise flawless with light friction on the highpoints. Scarce LDS, die state d, with a rim cud under 184. CC#5 for the die state in the Grellman census.

SECOND FINEST DIE STATE
LOT 1100 1846 N-5 R2 Repunched 1 AU55. Frosty light to medium steel brown with an arc of darker chocolate brown on the lower left portion of the obverse. The surfaces are satiny and attractive with just a hint of friction on the highest points of the devices. A small nick on the truncation over the 8 is the only notable mark. LDS, die state d, with a strong rim cud break at TA in STATES. In addition there are three smaller but clearly visible rim cuds on the right side of the obverse. CC#2 of those known with the single reverse rim cud in the Grellman census. The repunching under the base of the 1 is clear and fine repunching can be seen on the other digits as well. Previously housed an ANACS holder graded MS61BN.
