TNA HOF Collection Pt 1
EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS
VERY SCARCE EDS 1846 N-1
LOT 1090 1846 N-1 R1 Repunched 18 AU50. Closer to mint state in sharpness but there are tiny ticks scattered over the obverse, mostly on the chin and neck. None of the marks is visible to the unaided eye but there are too many for the higher grade. Medium brown and light chocolate with mint frost covering the protected areas on both sides. Very scarce EDS, die state a, with an uncracked obverse.

LOT 1091 1846 N-1 R1 Repunched 18 AU55. Glossy light olive with 5% of the original mint red remaining, mostly on the reverse. Looks mint state but there are some contact marks including a pair of thin nicks under star 3 and a small vertical nick before the nose. E-MDS, die state b, with a very fine die crack through the date and most of the stars.
LOT 1092 1846 N-2 R2 Repunched 1 MS63+. Frosty olive and steel brown with 10-15% of the mint color remaining, mostly on the obverse. Satiny and very attractive. The only notable mark is a small scrape on the tip of the bust, and it does not catch your eye. A barely visible struck-through line at the upper right tip of star 3 is the best identifying mark (as struck). Sharply struck E-MDS, die state b early. The crack at MER is very light and the repunching left of the 1 is sharp. Tied for CC#5 for the variety in the Grellman census.
