LOT 13 1804 C-8 R-1 Spiked Chin F15. Light to medium chocolate browns with traces of dark crud in some protected areas. There are a couple faint pin scratches that blend in well on the portrait, one behind the hair braid, and rim nicks parallel to the lower hair curls and under 1 in the date. Smooth, glossy surfaces. Manley Die State 2.0.
LOT 14 1804 C-11 R-2 Plain 4, Stems F12+. Glossy dark brown with hints of lighter chocolate on some high points. There are traces of very light micro-porosity visible under a glass, otherwise smooth in appearance and free of notable marks. A bit weaker on the central reverse but still full date and legends.
LOT 10 1797 C-1 R-2 1 Above 1 PCGS XF Detail (Environmental Damage). Mostly deep olive and steel brown patina with hints of lighter brown on the portrait high points. There is also a bit of oxidation along the rim obverse edge and very light roughness on the surfaces. There are a few old scratches around the wreath and minor nicks under ES in STATES and over D in UNITED. Despite the minor surface issues the details are sharp with only a bit of weakness on the central reverse, otherwise full legends and clear date with obvious 1 Above 1 feature. Several die cracks and bulges visible on the obverse. Our grade is F12. 35101.97/36659791
LOT 15 1805 C-1 R-1 Small 5, Stemless NGC AU50. Light olive and tan browns with hints of very faded mint red in some protected areas. Only the most trivial marks, including a very faint hairline scratch from the drapery at the shoulder into the field that blends in well, and a nick in the middle hair. Attractive surfaces. Our grade is XF40+. 6284707-002
LOT 11 1803 C-4 R-4 VG10. Glossy light and steel browns with traces of dark old crud in some protected areas and a small carbon speck behind the lower hair curls. There are a few trivial marks, nothing noteworthy or distracting. Smooth, glossy surfaces. Weaker but fully readable on the central reverse, bold date and legends otherwise.
LOT 16 1805 C-1 R-1 Small 5, Stemless VG10. A couple points sharper, but there are numerous old scratches and marks scattered on both sides, and the coin is slightly bent. Double struck with the first strike rotated and a second profile seen atop the face. Smooth, glossy surfaces.
LOT 12 1804 C-8 R-1 Spiked Chin PCGS XF40. Medium brown and light steel with traces of old crud in some protected areas. There are trivial marks on the portrait and fields, a vertical pin scratch that blends in well on the cheek and a couple ticks over the nose the best identifying, the former hardly visible without a glass. Smooth surfaces, MDS 3.0. Our grade is VF25. 1075.40/33241174
