1795 C-9 R-2 High Relief Head VG8. Glossy medium brown and light steel with several thin planchet fissures from the left rim through the portrait and a notable void on the rim over ER in LIBERTY. The only other notable marks are a cluster of parallel pin scratches on the neck. Smooth surfaces, full date and legends.
LOT 1
1793 C-2 R-3 NGC AG3. Deep chocolate and olive browns with a bit of a tapering worn all around the obverse rims. The lower part of the date and upper parts of some legends are more worn as a result, but other than HALF all can be made out easily. There are a couple dull hairline scratches in front of the profile. Pleasing smooth, hard surfaces. Our grade is AG3 . 2707218-001
LOT 6
1795 C-1 R-2 Lettered Edge PCGS VF Details (Environmental Damage). VF sharpness but there are areas of scattered microporoisty and very fine granularity on the surfaces with a few marks on the obverse. The most notable include a nick on the cap, one before the chin, one under 7, and a rim bruise below 9. Medium brown, olive, and deeper steel browns. Bold date and legends. Our grade is VG10. 35067.97/36659790
LOT 2
1793 C-3b R-3 Lettered Edge Low Head NGC VG Details (Scratched). Fine sharpness but there are several old hairline scratches across the portrait and in the lower right obverse field. There are also minor nicks on F in HALF and over the leaves between OF and AMERICA. Chocolate and olive browns. Bold date and LIBERTY, faint in places but fully readable reverse legends. NGC misattributed this as Plain Edge, but the edge lettering is strong and easily identifiable. Our grade is VG10. 6972596-006
LOT 7
1795 C-1 R-2 Lettered Edge G5. Cleaned and now toned olive and bluish steel with area of micro-roughness. There is a pin scratch under F in HALF, and another mark to the right of that inside the wreath. A bit weaker at AL in HALF, but otherwise fully readable legends and date with complete edge lettering.
LOT 3
1794 C-4a R-3 Small Edge Letters NGC Fine Details (Corrosion). Fine sharpness but corroded with a granular steel patina and deeper brown on some of the high points. Free of notable marks, the legends and date are bold and complete. Our grade is G5. 2707218-002
LOT 8
1795 C-4 R-3 Punctuated Date VG10. Attractive light brown with light steel on the high points. There are some natural striations on the lower obverse and a tiny flaw over the last A in AMERICA, as struck. Weaker on the central reverse, otherwise full date and legends.
LOT 4
1794 C-4a R-3 Small Edge Letters G4. Dark brown with lighter chocolate on some high points and microscopic roughess on the surfaces. Smoother on the high points. There are strong die clash marks around the cap and obverse swelling behind the lower hair resulting in a weaker STA in STATES. Otherwise fully readable date and legends.

1795 C-6a R-2 Plain Edge, No Pole PCGS XF Detail (Environmental Damage). Near EF sharpness but covered with light roughness on the surfaces of both sides. Chocolate and dark olive brown patina with very faint pin scratches on the obverse fields and portrait. Overstruck on a Talbot Allum & Lee Token, some undertype visible on the lower left obverse dentils. Bold date and legends. Our grade is F15 35089.97/36659789
LOT 13 1804 C-8 R-1 Spiked Chin F15. Light to medium chocolate browns with traces of dark crud in some protected areas. There are a couple faint pin scratches that blend in well on the portrait, one behind the hair braid, and rim nicks parallel to the lower hair curls and under 1 in the date. Smooth, glossy surfaces. Manley Die State 2.0.
LOT 14 1804 C-11 R-2 Plain 4, Stems F12+. Glossy dark brown with hints of lighter chocolate on some high points. There are traces of very light micro-porosity visible under a glass, otherwise smooth in appearance and free of notable marks. A bit weaker on the central reverse but still full date and legends.
LOT 10 1797 C-1 R-2 1 Above 1 PCGS XF Detail (Environmental Damage). Mostly deep olive and steel brown patina with hints of lighter brown on the portrait high points. There is also a bit of oxidation along the rim obverse edge and very light roughness on the surfaces. There are a few old scratches around the wreath and minor nicks under ES in STATES and over D in UNITED. Despite the minor surface issues the details are sharp with only a bit of weakness on the central reverse, otherwise full legends and clear date with obvious 1 Above 1 feature. Several die cracks and bulges visible on the obverse. Our grade is F12. 35101.97/36659791
LOT 15 1805 C-1 R-1 Small 5, Stemless NGC AU50. Light olive and tan browns with hints of very faded mint red in some protected areas. Only the most trivial marks, including a very faint hairline scratch from the drapery at the shoulder into the field that blends in well, and a nick in the middle hair. Attractive surfaces. Our grade is XF40+. 6284707-002
LOT 11 1803 C-4 R-4 VG10. Glossy light and steel browns with traces of dark old crud in some protected areas and a small carbon speck behind the lower hair curls. There are a few trivial marks, nothing noteworthy or distracting. Smooth, glossy surfaces. Weaker but fully readable on the central reverse, bold date and legends otherwise.
LOT 16 1805 C-1 R-1 Small 5, Stemless VG10. A couple points sharper, but there are numerous old scratches and marks scattered on both sides, and the coin is slightly bent. Double struck with the first strike rotated and a second profile seen atop the face. Smooth, glossy surfaces.
LOT 12 1804 C-8 R-1 Spiked Chin PCGS XF40. Medium brown and light steel with traces of old crud in some protected areas. There are trivial marks on the portrait and fields, a vertical pin scratch that blends in well on the cheek and a couple ticks over the nose the best identifying, the former hardly visible without a glass. Smooth surfaces, MDS 3.0. Our grade is VF25. 1075.40/33241174

LOT 21 1807 C-1 R-1 PCGS AU53. Deep olive and steel browns gently mottled with subtle maroon on the obverse and hints of mint red in the protected areas. There are a handful of minor marks on the cheek, neck, and chest. Smooth surfaces, EDS Manley State 1.0 with the faint crack extending through the top of 07 to the right base of the drapery. LOT 17 1805 C-3 R-4 Small 5, Stems NGC G6. Dark olive brown with a notable dig in front of the bust tip. There are also faint pin scratches on the portrait, a more notable scratch from the nose up to under the eye, and another in upper hair. Partial central reverse legends, otherwise bold date and legends. Our grade is G4 . 2707218-008
LOT 18 1806 C-1 R-1 Small 6, Stemless PCGS AU53 CAC. Attractive chocolate brown with underlying lighter tan and puffs of deeper steel on both sides. There is a tiny natural flake or flaw at I in UNITED, as struck, otherwise free of notable marks or detractions. Smooth surfaces with frosty mint luster in some protected areas. LOT 19 1806 C-2 R-4 Small 6, Stems NGC VG8. Chocolate and olive with numerous faint, small pin scratches scattered on the obverse. There are also a couple more notable hairline scratches bisecting the reverse and intersecting at L in HALF. Weaker along the lower and left reverse, otherwise readable legends and full date. Smooth surfaces. Our grade is G4. 2707218-011
LOT 22 1808/7 C-2 R-3 NGC VF25. Dark steel brown with hints of ruddy brown in some protected areas and areas of microscopic roughness under CA in AMERICA and IT in UNITED. There are scattered trivial marks on the portrait and fields including a tick at the nostril, a notable rim bruise below the date that is visible on the reverse at S-O in STATES OF, and smaller ones at E and C in AMERICA. Smooth surfaces otherwise, clear overdate feature. Our grade is F12. 2707218-013
LOT 20 1806 C-2 R-4 Small 6, Stems G6. Light brown and medium olive with micro granularity across the surfaces except the highpoints, which are smoother. There are a handful of notable nicks on the portrait in the upper hair, along the jawline, two on the bust tip, and one in the right obverse field. Full date and legends.

LOT 23 1809 C-4 R-2 Circle in 0 NGC XF40. Dark brown and dark steel patina. There are a few trivial ticks in the fields, nothing noteworthy or distracting. The usual die break is seen across the neck and hair, with the distinct Circle in 0 feature. Bolder dentils along the upper left areas on both sides. Our grade is VF30. 2707218-015
LOT 24 1809/6 C-5 R-1 9 over Inverted 9 NGC AU53. AU sharpness but cleaned and now toned a steely olive patina with ruddy copper brown the protected areas, lighter around AMERICA. Only a few trivial marks including a tick in the field over A in HALF. There are delicate die breaks through stars 3-6 arcing around to the forehead, and connecting the upper hair to the top dentils. Clear overdate feature. Our grade is VF35. 4061002-001
LOT 25 1810 C-1 R-1 NGC VF30. Chocolate and olive browns. There is a pinprick right of star 4, and a faint scratch From ES in STATES over through O in OF that blends in well. Smooth surfaces. Our grade is F15. 2707218-021
LOT 26 1811 C-2 R-3 PCGS VF30. Glossy, uniform medium olive brown. There are a few mark sin the left obverse field including a dull nick right of star 4, a pin scratch right of star 2, and a couple ticks over the bust tip. Smooth surfaces. Our grade is VF20+. 1135.30/39325360
LOT 28 1825 C-1 R-3 F12. A few points sharper but previously cleaned and now toned mostly dark steel with underlying lighter brown in the protected areas. The only of note are a carbon speck left of star 2 and a nick on hair atop the forehead. Bold date and legends on fairly smooth surfaces.
LOT 27 1811 C-2 R-3 G5. Light to medium chocolate and steel browns. The notable marks include a rim nick atop the obverse, a scratch from the shoulder into the hair, and a tiny rim bump at E in UNITED. Bold date, full legends.

LOT 34 1837 HT-73 Half Cent of Copper VG10. VF sharpness but the surfaces are covered with micro granularity, there are traces of dark shallow scale in some reverse peripheries, and there is some old graffiti scratched around the central reverse. Nice light to medium brown color otherwise.
LOT 29 1826 C-2 R-3+ AU50. Near unc sharpness but there is a touch of rub on the high points. Mostly attractive light brown and golden olive with blue overtones, a puff of darker steel around the mouth, and more of the latter mottled on the reverse. Smooth surfaces with frosty luster.
LOT 30 1832 C-1 R-2 NGC MS62BN. Green frosty olive and steel obverse, the reverse is dark brown and olive with lighter tan mellowed down from faded mint color along the right side. There are wispy, trivial marks on Liberty’s cheek and the obverse fields, as well as light rub on the high points. Our grade is AU50. 4771715-003
LOT 31 1833 C-1 R-1 NGC AU58 CAC. Attractive light olive and faded mint red. Sharpness near mint state with a touch of rub on some high points, and minor marks under the eye and on the throat. Glossy surfaces with frosty mint luster in some protected areas. Our grade is EF45+ . 2287644-009
LOT 35 1849 Original Small Date Proof 60+. Deep chocolate, olive, and ebony steel patina, some reverse high points a few shades lighter. There is a tiny spot on the rim over CA in AMERICA, otherwise free of notable marks with mirror proof surfaces. 1218.94/45317039
LOT 32 1835 C-1 R-1 PCGS MS63BN. Frosty golden brown mellowed down from faded mint color with light steel overtones on the obverse and splashes of deeper maroon and steel around the reverse peripheries. Free of notable marks with frosty cartwheel luster, stronger on the obverse. Our grade is MS60. 1168.63/6322520
LOT 36 1850 C-1 R-1 PCGS AU58. Attractive glossy light chocolate brown with hints of faded mint red in some protected areas. There are minor flakes on the jawline and nose, and a nick right of star 7. Smooth, glossy surfaces otherwise with hints of frosty luster in some protected areas. Our grade is XF45. 1221.58/37120973

LOT 37 1853 C-1 R-1 PCGS AU58. Attractive chocolate brown with hints of deeper olive in some reverse protected areas. There is a carbon speck on the lower bust above 5, and a trivial tick on the bridge of the nose. Smooth, lustrous surfaces. Our grade is XF45. 1227.58/27617412
LOT 38 1853 C-1 R-1 VF30. Rather glossy light brown with light steel the high points. There are a couple trivial ticks on the rim left of star 3, hardly noteworthy but serve to identify. Smooth surfaces, repunching of the date is visible on all 4 digits.
LARGE CENTS
LOT 39 1794 S-48 Starred Reverse AG3. A few points sharper but likely buried in the ground for a time and now corroded and cleaned. Now mostly steel brown with splashes of tan and overtones of turquoise and olive. Despite the surfaces, the date, LIBERTY and portrait details remain and well over half of the stars are visible around the dentils on the reverse.
LOT 40 1796 NC-3 R-6 AG3. Glossy chocolate brown with no roughness or verdigris. The only mark is a light rim bruise at 6 in the date. Easily readable date, though the bottom half is fading to the rim, as are the tops of the legends. EDS, Breen State I. Smooth and attractive, just well worn. CC#14 in the Noyes census, his photo #32171. Bland says CC#15.

LOT 42 1798 S-187 R-1 NGC AU Details (Cleaned). AU sharpness but cleaned and now deep chocolate and steel browns. Only a few trivial marks, one below the chin the best identifying. Smooth, glossy surfaces with incused dentils along the top of ERICA on the reverse. Our grade is XF45. 6980966-005
LOT 43 1799 S-189 R-2 G5. The obverse is several points sharper but the reverse is weaker. Both sides are covered with fine to moderate roughness, and the fields on the obverse have been smoothed. No verdigris. Dark olive brown and steel with lighter chocolate highpoints. A thin, old scratch in the hair under BE can help identify this cent. MDS with crumbling in the dentils at F-A. The date is clear and relatively strong, but LIBERTY and the opposing bottom of the reverse are weakly struck, a characteristic of the die state. Certainly not perfect but the strong date is a big plus at this grade

LOT 44 1800 NC-3 R-6- AG3+. G4 obverse, while the reverse is AG3, but choice for the grade. Glossy dark olive with lighter steel brown on the highpoints. There is a small planchet chip in the leaves over the left top of O in ONE. Bold, clear date and the spike up from the top of I in AMERICA is obvious.

LOT 45 1802 S-238 R-4 F12. Glossy olive and steel brown patina with a spot of micropitting right of LIBERTY but otherwise smooth surfaces. The notable marks include minor nicks in the hair near the ear, under 0 in the date, left of L in LIBERTY, and a horizontal pin scratch over the wreath. Bold date and legends. CC#25 in the Noyes census.
LOT 47 1817 N-8 R-2 AU50. Frosty olive and chocolate browns with traces of lighter reddish steel faded down from mint color in some of the protected areas. Lustrous surfaces with great eye appeal. E-MDS(a) before the “Mouse break”.

LOT 48 1818 N-6 R-1 EF40. Frosty olive brown with underlying tan mellowed down from faded mint color. There is a thin planchet fissure on the obverse through star 2 into the field that also extends along the rim to the other side through A in STATES and the wreath. One other minor lamination is seen over star 5. Frosty, lustrous surfaces otherwise, free of notable marks. LDS(c-).

LOT 49 1818 N-10 R-1 AU55. Blend of frosty olive and reddish steel browns with a red spot over star 13. Only a few trivial marks, including a couple ticks left of the first S in STATES. Fully lustrous surfaces, LDS(b) with the arcing obverse die breaks through the stars and date.
LOT 53 1822 N-5 R-3 VF30. EF45+ sharpness but there is fine granularity in the protected areas, mostly on the reverse. Deep olive brown with hints of lighter medium brown on some of the high points. There are a few trivial marks the fields, and a small pin scratch on the cheek. MDS(b). Broken out of an NGC AU50 holder #1883852-001 (label included).

LOT 54 1823/2 N-1 R-2 VF20. VF30 sharpness but lightly smoothed and now a steely chocolate brown patina with a couple minor rim bumps under 8 and between stars 5-6. Only trivial marks otherwise, smooth glossy surfaces with clear overdate feature. EDS(a). Broken out of an old NGC VF30 holder #678384-004 (label included).

LOT 55 1824 N-2 R-2 EF40+. Glossy medium brown and chocolate with hints of mint frost in some protected areas. There is a thin nick at the berry under E in UNITED, barely visible and the best identifying mark. Smooth surfaces with excellent eye appeal. MDS.

LOT 52 1821 N-2 R-1 Planchet Clip NGC VF30. Medium to dark chocolate browns with a bit of micro granularity around star 8 and traces of old crud in some protected areas. Otherwise free of notable marks with smooth surfaces. There is a curved planchet clip at 9 o’clock on the obverse. EDS(a). Our grade is VF20.

LOT 57 1826 N-5 R-2 VF35+. Close to EF40 but there is a small spot of carbon in the right obverse field. Glossy light reddish chocolate with hints of underling lustrous golden brown faded down from mint color in the protected areas. A choice VF example with great eye appeal. EDS(a).
LOT 58 1827 N-6 R-3 VF35. 5 points sharper but there is a shallow layer of microscopic granularity on the surfaces that somewhat dull the otherwise glossy surfaces. Reddsih chocolate brown with deeper olive on the high points. A few trivial marks, nothing noteworthy. MDS(c-).

LOT 61 1830 N-4 R-2 Large Letters EF45. Glossy chocolate and darker steel brown with frosty lighter tan in the protected areas on the reverse. There is a double profile along the forehead due to die bounce. Frosty luster shows in the protected areas of both sides. MDS(b).
LOT 65 1832 N-3 R-1 Large Letters ANACS AU53. Frosty golden tan and bluish steel brown with a splash of darker toning at TE in STATES. The highest points on the portrait are a lighter shade of coppery tan thanks to a very light rub. Sharply struck with just a trace of friction on the highest points of the devices. Mint luster shows in the fields. E-MDS. The dentils are sharp and microscopic radial flowlines are starting to show in the fields.
