Lot 85 1814 S-294 R-1 Crosslet 4 PCGS XF Detail (Altered Surf.). Dark chocolate brown and olive, lighter in color on the reverse than the obverse. There are traces of microgranularity visible under a glass but appears smooth to the unaided eye. The marks include a couple nicks below star 6, a tiny rim bump under the second 1, and another small nick on the dentils over C in AMERICA. Struck slightly off center. Lot 87 1814 S-295 R-1 Plain 4 PCGS XF45. Mostly medium brown with hints of ruddy brown around some of the peripheries and a splash of tan on Liberty’s cheek. There are also a few trivial marks on Liberty’s nose and face. Smooth, glossy surfaces. E-MDS Breen State III, Smith state 3.
