Lot 82 1814 S-294 R-1 Crosslet 4 PCGS VF Detail (Environ. Damage). VF30 sharpness but likely buried in the ground for a time with light corrosion and verdigris on both sides. Mostly steel and dark brown patina, free of notable marks. EDS, Breen State I, Smith state 1. Our grade is F12. $ 780 Ex; Ed Hipps 12/2/1989 - Pete Smith Collection

Lot 83 1814 S-294 R-1 Crosslet 4 PCGS VF30. Dark brown surfaces, a couple shades lighter on the high points. The best identifying mark is a small pin scratch between star 1 and the dentils, otherwise free of notable marks. Smooth, hard surfaces. The reverse is struck slightly off center towards K-1.5. Lot 84 1814 S-294 R-1 Crosslet 4 PCGS VF35. Dark brown surfaces with a bit of granular crud around stars 4-8 and 8 in the date. There is also a small nick before the mouth, otherwise trivial marks. Smooth surfaces. Struck slightly off center on both sides, and rotated ever so slightly clockwise on the reverse. LDS Breen State II, Smith state 2.
