Lot 88 1814 S-295 R-1 Plain 4 PCGS XF Detail (Cleaned). XF45 sharpness but cleaned and now toned a mix of chocolate and dark browns with traces of old verdigris around UNITED and the lower wreath. There are also a few small hairline scratches around ONE and a small dig under the bar below CENT. Otherwise smooth surfaces. E-MDS, Breen State IV, Smith State 4. Lot 89 1814 S-295 R-1 Plain 4 G6. Medium to dark chocolate browns with a scuff before the neck revealing the underlying lighter brown. There are old hairline scratches and minor nicks on the surface and rims of both sides. Smooth surfaces, bold date and legends. MDS, Breen state V. $ 80 Ex; Thomas D. Lot 90 1814 S-295 R-1 Plain 4 PCGS XF40. Dark chocolate brown surfaces with traces of dark old crud in some protected areas. The notable marks include a few scuffs in the left field before the face, and a couple more recent hairline scratches, one above 14 and another above CE in CENT. Smooth surfaces.
