LOT 385 1854 N-22 R3+ ANACS graded EF45 Details, Cleaned . Glossy steel brown and light olive. Lightly cleaned leaving faint hairlines. The cleaning appears to have been a wipe with a cloth, not a chemical process. The only notable mark is a very light scratch over TES in STATES. EDS, die state a, with a horizontal die line at the right top of the 4. Our grade is EF40+ sharpness net VF35. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341066

LOT 383 1854 N-3 R1 Stray 4 in Curls PCGS graded MS65 Brown . Frosty light olive with golden tan in protected areas. Delicately mottled with slightly darker olive brown toning on both sides. Very sharply struck. The luster is a bit subdued by a layer of oxidation. EDS, die state a, with a fine die line slanting through the right side of star 6. The Stray 4 in the Curls between the 8 & 5 is obvious under magnification. Our grade is MS60. Certificate #1904.65/10757749

LOT 386 1855 N-4 R1 Upright 55 ANACS graded AU50 Details, Corroded . Glossy light steel brown and olive. Lightly cleaned and there are some small spots, the largest under star 13. A few of the spots contain traces of carbon but there are no notable signs of contact. MDS, die state a, with fine die flowlines but no cracks or rim cuds on the reverse. Our grade is EF45 sharpness net VF35. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341061

LOT 384 1854 N-21 R2 AU50 . A sharply struck mint state cent that was cleaned. Golden tan and light brown with medium brown at the ear and cheek. No notable marks. E-MDS, die state b, with fine die clashmarks on both sides.

PROOFLIKE MOSTLY RED 1855 N-10

LOT 387 1855 N-10 R1 Italic 55 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown . Mint red mellowing to light steel brown with more than half the original mint color remaining on both sides. Sharply struck with reflective fields on both sides. A beautiful cent that must have been struck shortly following the certified “Proof” strikes of the variety. Just a few minor marks including a tiny planchet flake in the field before the lips, a light nick at the upper point of star 2, and a couple light nicks left of star 11. VEDS, die state a. Our grade is MS63+, very close to MS64. A great example of the “Slanting 5’s” type.
