LOT 388 1856 N-3 R1 Italic 5 PCGS graded MS63 Red & Brown . The obverse is frosty red fading to steel and light olive with about half the red remaining. The reverse is frosty light olive. Looks choice but there are faint hairlines on the obverse and tiny specks of darker toning scattered about that side. M-LDS, die state f, with die cracks on both sides but no cud break on the obverse. Our grade is MS60. Certificate #1923.63/29993837
LOT 390 1856 N-13 R2 Italic 5 ANACS graded AU50 . Frosty medium brown with darker steel brown on the obverse highpoints. Smooth and the only mark is a dull vertical nick or planchet chip in the center of the neck. MDS, die state c. Most of the die lines at ONE CENT are gone but there are no rim cud breaks on the obverse. Our grade is EF45 . The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341063

LOT 389 1856 N-12 R1 Upright 5 ANACS graded AU50 . Glossy light olive and reddish brown blending to reddish chocolate in protected areas. Recolored but sharp and attractive. No marks. M-LDS, die state b. The die lines at IT in UNITED are gone. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF40. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341062

LOT 391 1856 N-14 R1 Italic 5 PCI graded MS64 Red & Brown . Lustrous bright mint red mellowing to light steel brown with about 75% of the planchet showing mint color. A bit softly struck at the top of the obverse and bottom of the reverse, as nearly always seen on this variety. A carbon spot near the main curl and a smaller one under star 13 are the notable post striking defects. MDS, die state b. While this variety is relatively easy to find in mint state, pieces with this much original mint color are quite rare. Our grade is MS64. Certificate #701194001
