LOT 345 1839 N-13 R2 Booby Head ANACS graded EF40 . Glossy olive and steel brown. Smooth with no notable contact marks, but there is a planchet flake under the end of the wreath stem, and this mint error does catch your eye. MDS, Grellman state b, with die cracks on the reverse but no rim cud on the obverse. Our grade is VF35. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341039

PROOFLIKE 1840 N-4

LOT 346 1840 N-4 R3- Small Date MS60 . Bluish steel with hints of iridescent rose. Peeps of mint color show in protected areas. May have been dipped long ago but the eye appeal is quite nice. Very sharply struck with prooflike fields on both sides. The only marks are two small carbon spots, one in the field before the throat and another on the bottom of the second S in STATES, plus a small nick on the right foot of the M in AMERICA. VEDS, die state a early. The die defects under the date are bold and there is no rim cud under the date. This is the finest example of the die state in the Grellman census.

LOT 348 1840 N-6 R1 Large Date with Repunched 40 ANACS graded EF40 . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth with just a few contact marks. A nick on the base of the 4 and a rim bruise at RI in AMERICA are the notable defects. LDS, die state c. The repunching on the 40 is visible but the point to the left from star 13 is gone. Our grade is VF30+. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341041

LOT 347 1840 N-6 R1 Large Date with Repunched 40 EF45 . Five points sharper but there is a shallow planchet delamination left of star 4 (as struck). Otherwise this cent is choice with just a light touch of friction on the highest points of the devices. Frosty light brown. E-MDS, Grellman state b early. The repunching on the 40 is sharp.
