LOT 342 1839 N-3 R2 Head of 1838 ANACS graded EF40 . Frosty reddish brown and light chocolate. Looks smooth but a glass shows microscopic granularity covering the planchet. The only marks are two small planchet flakes under the right end of the line below CENT (as struck). E-MDS, Grellman state a, without the depression in the field above star 1. Our grade is VF35 sharpness net VF25. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341035

LOT 339 1838 N-12 R2 Doubled Die Reverse ANACS graded EF40 . Tan and light olive brown. Just light wear and small contact marks including a tick on the rim over the first T in STATES and a nick over the E in CENT. Later die state with flowlined fields. The doubling is still clearly visible on the left side of the wreath, especially on the berries. Our grade is VF25. Certificate #6161080

LOT 340 1839/6 N-1 R3+ Overdate 9 over 6 F12+ . Glossy light to medium chocolate brown with lighter brown and tan on the highpoints of the reverse thanks to a light cleaning on that side. The surfaces are smooth except for a small area of light roughness or planchet flaking at S-OF and another under the M in AMERICA. The obverse is choice for the grade. E-MDS, Grellman state b early, with a dull wave from the rim over star 3 to the nose. The overdate feature is bold.

LOT 343 1839 N-5 R2 Booby Head ANACS graded F15 . Glossy medium brown blending to light chocolate in protected areas. Smooth and void of notable defects, just evenly worn. Attractive for the grade. E-MDS. Our grade is F15, same as the ANACS assessment . The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341037

LOT 341 1839 N-2 R2 Head of 1838 ANACS graded AU55 Details, Scratched & Cleaned . Recolored a glossy mix of reddish brown and darker reddish chocolate. The only contact marks are a couple scratches at NE in ONE and a couple more from the T in CENT to the R in AMERICA. MDS, Grellman state b. The die lines over STAT and RICA are gone. Our grade is EF45+ sharpness net VF30. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341034

LOT 344 1839 N-8 R1 Type of 1840 ANACS graded VF35 . Glossy steel brown and light chocolate with reddish brown toning in the fields on the reverse. Fine dirt shows in protected areas on both sides but there are no notable marks. MDS, die state b, before the rim cud under the date. Our grade is VF25. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label.
