LOT 336 1838 N-4 R1 PCGS graded AU55 . Glossy light to medium chocolate brown and steel with lighter brown in protected areas on the reverse. The only marks are a small splash of darker toning right of star 4 and a nick in the field between that star and the nose. LDS, Grellman state h, with strong die breaks on the obverse and a cud under the 83 reaching up to the base of the 8 and nearly to the base of the 3. A neat die state. Our grade is AU50. LOT 333 1837 N-4 R2 Plain Hair Cord, Large Letters ANACS graded EF40 . Frosty medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth with minor contact marks including a tiny tick on the rim under star 2, a dull rim nick above the O in OF, a light rim bruise over the M, and a few tiny ticks at the rim below the end of the wreath ribbon. LDS, Grellman state c. The left top of the I in UNITED is faint, essentially gone. Our grade is VF30. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341029

LOT 334 1837 N-5 R2 Small Letters PCGS graded AU58 . Frosty medium brown. Sharply struck and the only mark is a small nick under the chin. EDS, Grellman state b, with a die line close below the feet of the I & T in UNITED. There is some dirt in protected areas and a proper bath should expose more of the underlying mint luster. Our grade is EF45+ (perhaps a bit higher after that bath). The Small Letters feature is noted on the PCGS label. Certificate #1732.58/3653123
LOT 337 1838 N-4 R1 ANACS graded EF45 . Very attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth and choice except for some small contact marks on the neck. M-LDS, Grellman state g, with a clearly defined rim cud under the 83 and a thin internal cud break through the lowest curl. A neat die state. Our grade is EF40 sharpness net VF35+. LOT 335 1837 N-13 R2 Plain Hair Cord, Large Letters ANACS graded EF40 Details, Scratched . Glossy olive brown and steel with lighter brown in protected areas. Smooth and void of defects except for a fine but relatively fresh scratch from star 5 to the nose before the eye. MDS, Grellman state b. The reverse is cracked and the repunching on the I in UNITED is still visible. Our grade isVF35 sharpness net VF25. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341028
LOT 338 1838 N-9 R3 ANACS graded AU53 Details, Corroded . Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with a few wisps of dark olive brown on the reverse. There is a splash of reddish brown toning at ATES, and that area shows microscopic roughness. A small nick close under star 4 and a thin planchet fissure at the rim over the first A in AMERICA are the notable marks. LDS, Grellman state e, with a rim cud from right of the top of star 12 clockwise to below the entire date. The margins of the cud are clearly defined. Our grade is EF45 sharpness net VF35.
