LOT 308 1827 N-11 R1 ANACS graded EF40 Details, Corroded . Frosty steel and olive brown. There is verdigris in protected areas, particularly on the reverse, but the copper appears to be intact. No marks or other defects. LDS, Grellman state c, with crumbling at the brow and under the nose. Our grade is VF30 sharpness net VF20. The attribution is noted on the ANACS label. Certificate #7341011

LOT 309 1827 N-12 R5 F15 . Sharpness VF30 or slightly better but covered with fine to moderate granularity. No verdigris or marks. Slightly glossy very dark steel and olive brown with lighter brown on a few of the highpoints. MDS, Grellman state b late. The die crack between the 1 & 8 is clear all the way up to the back of the ear. This example has a fine crack like line that meanders from star 2 to the lower lip, and this line was once thought to be a die crack and is mentioned in John Wright’s book on the cents of 1816-1839. The line is an effect of the light corrosion rather than a real die crack, but it is quite deceptive. A sharp example of this tough variety.
