LOT 635 1787 Fugio Cent Newman 15-Y R2 8-Pointed Star PCGS graded AU50 . Frosty light to medium brown. Mostly smooth but there are tiny planchet chips on both sides, mostly on the lower part of the obverse. The only obvious planchet defect is a delamination void at ring #6. No corrosion, verdigris, or contact marks. BUSINESS and part of the date are weakened due to planchet chipping but everything else is clear. The two 8-pointed stars on the reverse are complete and strong. Late die state with obvious die cracks on both sides. Our grade is EF45. A sharp example of the 8-Pointed Star variety (listed on page 85 in the 2003 “Redbook.”) Certificate #898.50/22081386

LOT 634 1787 Fugio Cent Newman 12-U R4 G4 . A STATES UNITED variety. Mostly glossy dark chocolate brown. Covered with minor roughness but free of verdigris or notable marks. The date is clear and most of the legends are visible.
