LOT 612 1795 Washington Grate Halfpenny with Large Buttons and Reeded Edge Breen-1271, Baker 29b EF45 . Choice frosty light to medium chocolate brown. The only marks are a couple small ticks in the field before the mouth. Sharply struck. Listed on page 81 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 146.9 grains.

LOT 609 1791 Washington Cent with Small Eagle Breen-1217, Baker-16 VF25 . Sharper but there are some light rim bruises on an otherwise smooth, very attractive piece. The notable marks are a couple very light rim bumps under the shoulder and rim nicks off the ends of both wings of the eagle. Glossy medium chocolate brown with traces of frosty tan in protected areas. Listed on page 79 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 192.7 grains.

LOT 613 1795 Washington Liberty & Security Halfpenny with Birmingham Edge Breen-1261, Baker-31b VF30 . Sharper with the frost and surfaces of a piece closer to mint state, but the strike is weak in several places, especially on Washington’s head. No marks and very little wear. Listed on page 82 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 121.8 grains.

LOT 610 (1792) Washington Born Virginia Breen-1244, 1959 Uniface Restrike in Silver MS60+ . Frosty silver. The only mark is a tiny scratch on the blank side. The original is listed on page 80 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 301.1 grains.

LOT 614 (1795) Washington Liberty & Security Penny with ASYLUM Edge Breen-1254, Baker-30 VF20 . Sharpness near EF40 but there are some contact marks including three dull digs in the field before the face, some more on the upper part of the reverse, and a few small rim bumps on both sides. Glossy chocolate brown with lighter brown highpoints. Listed on page 82 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 310.0 grains.

LOT 611 (1792) Washington Born Virginia Breen-1245, 1959 Uniface Restrike in Copper MS60+ . Lustrous mellowing red mixed with wavy light brown toning, about two-thirds of the red remaining. No marks or other defects. The original is listed on page 80 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 276.2 grains.
