LOT 592 1786 Vermont Landscape “VERMONTENSIUM” Ryder-8 R4- VG10 . Glossy chocolate brown and steel with almost perfectly smooth surfaces. Just a few small planchet voids, much better planchet quality than usually seen on this variety. Struck slightly off center to K-3 causing weakness on that side, but the date is clear and the repunching on the 1 is sharp. A nice example of this tough variety. Listed on page 56 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 110.8 grains.

LOT 589 1788 New Jersey Maris 67-v R1 NGC AU Details, Environmental Damage . Dark olive brown and chocolate with steel overtones. Both sides show small planchet flakes and microscopic granularity but the details are sharp and the eye appeal is decent. No verdigris or contact marks, just a hint of friction on the highpoints. Our grade is net VF30. Listed on page 70 in the 2023 “Redbook.”
