LOT 470 1723 Wood’s Hibernia Farthing Martin 3.8 Bd.1 R4 Double Struck EF45 but Damaged . Glossy chocolate brown with frost in protected areas. Flattened at the top of the obverse and bottom of the reverse. Prior owners have claimed this is a planchet flaw; it’s damage. Fine but clear doubling shows in the legends on the upper half of the obverse. LDS with a strong die crack from the back of the head. Listed on pages 41-42 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 56.8 grains.
LOT 473 1723 Wood’s Hibernia Halfpenny Martin 4.48 Gb.4 R4 VF25 . Slightly sharper but a glass reveals very fine roughness in some of the protected areas. No marks, just light wear on the devices. Glossy chocolate and steel brown. EDS. Listed on page 42 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 129.7 grains.

LOT 474 Trio of 1723 Wood’s Hibernia Halfpennies . Grades are F-VF sharpness net VG10 for minor defects. All have a clear date and readable legends. Listed on page 42 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Lot of 3 coins.
LOT 471 1723 Wood’s Hibernia Farthing Martin 3.12 Bc.7 R6 VG10 . Glossy light to medium steel brown. Smooth and free of defects, just worn. Choice for the grade. Late die state with obvious swelling in the center of the reverse and extensive die rust in the legend on the obverse. Comparable to the Martin plate coin for the variety. Listed on page 41-42 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 61.2 grains.

LOT 475 1657-G French Liard NGC Fine Details Environmental Damage . Struck in copper at the Pottiers Mint. Slightly rough but not too bad. Later die state with a long die break from the middle of the nose. Not a flattering look for the king (Louis XIV). Chocolate brown with lighter brown highlights. The date is strong and most of the legends are clear. Our grade is net VG8. Certificate #2835942-001
LOT 472 1723 Wood’s Hibernia Halfpenny Martin 4.27 Gc.6 R2 F15 . Glossy chocolate brown blending to olive brown in protected areas. Looks smooth but a glass reveals microscopic granularity in the fields and protected areas. No marks or verdigris. Listed on page 42 in the 2023 “Redbook.” Weight 110.7 grains.

LOT 476 1740-D French Colonial Half Sou Marque Vlack-300 R1 VF30 . Struck in billon silver at the Lyon Mint. Dark olive and silvery gray. Glossy with microscopic granularity under the glossy toning. No marks or other defects. The date and legends are complete and clear.
