EARLY CENTS AUCTIONS

LOT 313 1806 C-4 R1 Large 6 with Stems F12 . Several points sharper but there are some light scratches on the obverse, mostly dull ones on the neck. None of them is distracting but there are a few too many to ignore. Mostly glossy medium chocolate brown and steel. MDS. The repunching on the 6 is visible and the reverse is rotated 55 degrees clockwise.

LOT 315 1808 C-3 R1 NGC AU Details, Environmental Damage . A sharp piece with light wear on the highpoints and underlying frost in protected areas, but the surfaces are dark and dull thanks to a thin layer of oxidation and microscopic granularity. Looks like a piece that would benefit from a proper brushing. No marks or verdigris. MDS, Manley state 3.0, Fuhrman 3.0, with areas of weak or missing dentils on both sides but before the die crack at the I in UNITED. Our grade is net VF30. Certification Number 2543471-005

LOT 314 1807 C-1 R1 F15+ . Nearly 10 points sharper but the portrait is covered with microscopic hairline scratches with a few more in the obverse fields. None of these marks is visible without the aid of a strong glass. The only additional marks are a small planchet void under the 8 (as struck) and a small nick under the H in HALF. MDS, Manley state 2.0. The fields are flowlined and most of the dentils are gone, but there are some remaining on the lower part of the reverse.

LOT 316 1809 C-3 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved . Lustrous light olive and steel brown with 5% of the obverse and 25% of the reverse showing mellowed mint red. A beautiful piece with trivial marks; a spot of dark toning at the dentils over the first A in AMERICA is the only notable defect. Nicely struck E-MDS, Manley state 1.0, with clear dentils around most of the obverse. Struck with the reverse rotated 25 degrees CCW. Graded MS60 and tied for CC#5 in the Noyes census, his photo #73212. Our grade is MS62+, close to MS63. Housed in an older generation PCGS holder with a green label. Certification Number 1124.64/1373765
